Natural Salt Toothpaste

One of our favourite toothpaste is based on salt, many of our patients already know. Natural toothpastes are a good option in this era full of chemicals all around us. Salt has its natural disinfectant effects and it can also help to reduce inflammation in oral cavity due to its anti- inflammatory effect. Anyone can use them - from kids to adults. The ideal dosage is twice a day - in the morning and in the evening.

Dr.Hauschka Sole Sensitive saltwater toothpaste is full of essential oils and natural ingredients which help to prevent tartar and dental caries. This gently cleaning toothpaste does not contain any fluorides and it helps also with sensitive teeth. Apart from that it also helps to remove stains from teeth that we all have thanks to drinking coffee, tea etc. But the RDA number (abrasivity of toothpastes) is low here (only about 40) so you do not have to be worried about your enamel. It also contains thermal water, essential oils of sage, thyme and lemon for a better flavour. And what is the best- it is 100% natural, without any preservatives, dyes or silicones.

There is another salt based toothpaste on the market from Weleda we like. The salty water contained in these toothpastes helps to stimulate salivary secretion which helps to naturally clean the oral cavity and remineralize hard dental tissues. Its natural ingredients such as chestnut bark or myrrh help to protect your gums and gently clean your teeth. Apart from that the peppermint essential oils give them a nice flavour, too.

Ecodenta salty toothpaste is also natural, fluoride-free and it helps a lot with sensitive teeth
because it contains a special molecule - potassium citrate. This molecule helps to close the dentine
tubules and thus reduces the dentine sensitivity which is a major problem of many patients, that is
why we are happy to offer our patients one of these toothpastes that can help them a lot with their
problems. It even contains an extract from aloe vera!

Last but not least there is another toothpaste with Himalayan salt - toothpaste Rael. It contains more than 80 natural minerals and no chemicals (no SLS). It is naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.

As you can see there are several options of salt based toothpastes on the market and it depends
on you which one you will choose. You should always ask your dentist or dental hygienist to help
